PRP Therapy (sometimes referred to as “Dracula” or “Vampire” face lift) involves blood being taken from the patient’s body (in the same way as in a blood test) then put in a machine that separates the blood cells, serum and platelets which are then injected directly back into the face or the area of the body in need of rejuvenation.
Platelets release growth factors that help the body repair itself by stimulating cells to regenerate new tissue so as well as improving the skin tone the treatment also promotes healthy skin growth and collagen production so the skin appears plumper and more vibrant.
Benefits of PRP / Vampire face-lifts
PRP is the only therapy that can safely regenerate skin tissue to reduce wrinkles under the eyes.
What results can I expect?
Expect the skin to be visibly smoother, firmer and revitalised within three weeks of treatment and improvements in skin tone and texture will continue in the following 10 months.
What is the expected recovery time?
Some minimal swelling and bruising may be experienced for 12-24 hours following treatment but very little down is required for this treatment and because your own plasma is used there is minimal risk of side effects.
How many treatments are recommended?
It depends on the condition of the skin but usually 2-3 treatments are recommended with a four – six week interval between each treatment. Annual top up treatments will maintain the effects.
